Andrew Mac
I was hoping if anyone has added some type of watermark to their drawings. I have had several clients not pay after I have finished their drawings and sent it electronically. I was thinking I would add some type of watermark and release a clean version when payment is paid in full. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Could you send them PDF with a watermark followed by other formats on full payment? Or to make their life really bad, find someone with a student version of VW and have them open and resave the file (Make sure not to give them the only copy). That will put the educational watermark on the file. They would have to go back to you for a clean version or try to convince VWI that they should help them remove the watermark. I don't know of any other way to watermark a VWX file. 1 Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
If you do go the educational route, you probably want to warn them. If they try to copy and paste objects out of your drawing, any file they paste them to will also end up with the watermark. And only VWI can remove them. Quote Link to comment
Andrew Mac
I actually thought about a bit more and will only use it with a PDF and create the watermark in VW and add to all sheets. Now I think I need to work on creating a contract of sorts that protects me and my work from not getting taken. thanks Quote Link to comment
rDesign
Assuming you have either Acrobat or Bluebeam (not Acrobat Reader), you can set password restrictions on the PDF to restrict printing, editing and copying. That way they can only view the PDF, but cannot print it out until you receive final payment: At which point you send them a new PDF which they can print. 1 Quote Link to comment
