halfcoupler
Hi @ all, I have 3D symbols that have have rectangles which should appear red when looked at in front view and blue when looked from back. This is no complicated thing to do, but I want to show this in hidden line rendering. I know this task is contradictionary, since by definition, hidden line has no fills, but maybe someone here knows a trick to do this ? I tested a bit with overlaying 2D rectangles onl 3d plane, also I could make a grid of lines that appear like a fill, but thats not an elegant way ... 1 Quote Link to comment
BenV
Often I will use an OpenGL background render with a hidden line foreground render to achieve this effect. I think there are generally enough settings that you can fiddle with for that route to make something you like. Speculating a bit, but I suppose you could also apply a texture with a surface hatch that is just a dense colored hatch. Quote Link to comment
halfcoupler
As far as I know, background render can only be applied to viewports, there seems no way to apply it to a single object ? Edited May 10, 2017 by halfcouple Quote Link to comment
