TArchit
What is the best way do show / extract a reflected ceiling plan from your model? Can you flip the direction a design layer is viewed in a viewport so that it looks up rather than down? Quote Link to comment
rDesign
Searching the forum for "reflected ceiling" brings up a multitude of results, one of which is this: There is also this KB article: In response to your 2nd question - no, you cannot 'flip' the direction of a viewport as you ask. Properly setting the Class visibilites is the way to create Reflected Ceiling plans. Edited May 7, 2017 by rDesign Quote Link to comment
Jim Smith
What we end up doing is similar; turn off the Sills Class, Place all elements in a series of Ceiling Classes & filling in the wall hatch in the Annotation Layer where a Door or Window would break the wall. What would work best is if one could manage the "Section Cut Height" properly for a Viewport (say 1900 or 7'-6") that way one would not see a door swing, and walls wouldn't be broken by doors & windows. 1 Quote Link to comment
Matt Overton
You can fake flip the model by adjusting Layer stacking in the viewport. This only helps if you break each of your stories in to floor, walls(+spaces) and ceiling at a minimum . As it allows you change stackings and show the slab/structure above below the ceiling. Personnaly we show door swings on RCP's to avoid services clashes and electricians putting the light switch on the wrong side of the door. 1 Quote Link to comment
Jim Smith
Matt, we actually have two RCP plans, & one has some furniture, millwork & Door swings in Grey Quote Link to comment
