Generic Solids

Question

When I convert an object to generic solids, some convert so that on selection they are highlighted along their geometry. Pic 1

Some are converted so that they highlight in a 3d cube (like a group does). Pic 2

Is this intentional, if so what is the distinction? It's been puzzling me for a while now.

Thanks in advance.

I want to know that too.

I often have those strange Solids that contain multiple independent Solids.

Whenever I saw ones with bounding boxes, I thought that would be a sign

that soemthing is wrong with geometry.

Not 100% sure but I thought these will also be selected already when you

only touch the bounding box without any geometry near.

(Or was this some Meshes only ?)

I have learned new things! The reasoning behind its current behavior is technologically sound (it avoids incredibly bad performance problems) but not something we want to continue. The end development goal is for all highlighting to be along the geometry and do away with the highlighted bounding boxes in 3D.

Thanks Jim. This is great to hear.
