check for updates occurs daily

VW asks me more than once a day to check for updates. It seems that the information that this was done is not properly stored. How do I ged rid of that message ?

I'm not shure, but I guess this occurs since last servicepack was installed.

And whats more : Although my licence is with a dongle VW always checks the licence online when starting the program. That's always an annoying time to wait....

 

Anyone has a similar behavior ?

Select Tools > Options > Vectorworks Preferences, and on the 'Session' tab you can set the update frequency. (Even though I already had 2017 installed, Vw2016 would keep reminding me that '2017 was available' until I fixed my update frequency).

Not sure about the license checking online when using a dongle...

After setting the update frequency as described above, close Vectorworks normally, this will confirm the settings change just in case the application does not close properly afterwards.

Yep has started this behaviour since SP3 for me too - regardless of the preference setting.

When you restart Vectorworks after changing that setting, has it remained changed to "Never" in the preferences window? Or does it revert back to another state?

For me, It stays in what ever I set it to - the only way that gets around the dialog box every start up is setting the checkbox ''do not show this window' option in the dialog box.
