Josh NZ
Have a query, thinking there's a simple solution. I have a 2D/3D symbol of a toilet. In top/plan view it looks fine, in 3D it looks fine, however in elevation the hidden line results recognise all the edges of the curved surfaces. I understand why, but needing a more recognisable side view. Have the same issue with vanities and showers etc also. Any ideas on a fix? I'm hoping not to have to paste 2D lines over every instance of a 2D/3D symbol with curves, seems a bit inefficient. Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
The easiest solution might be to re-model the toilet as solids. I always find it better to fix the model than chase the coverups later on. Kevin Edited April 19, 2017 by Kevin McAllister 1 Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Have you already played with your HL "crease angle" setting ? I think it defaults to 0° or 1° which shows all seams between faces that are not 100% coplanar. Quote Link to comment
AlanW
@Josh NZI think Zoomer has the answer, see attached. Adjust you crease angle ever so slightly to remove unwanted lines. 1 Quote Link to comment
Guest Wes Gardner
Here's another option The attached has 2 symbols. There is the top/plan view. In the 3D editing, there are front and side elevation line drawings created in the appropriate 3D planes. In section viewports, be sure that the “display planar objects” option is selected. These were easily created using the manufacturer’s DWG line drawings. Don't forget to turn off the appropriate classes in the class over rides of the viewports Kohler Toilets-2d-3d .vwx Quote Link to comment
Josh NZ
Thanks guys, I found 45° worked in this situation. Quote Link to comment
