Mike Wright
I have some extruded objects rendered with a basic image based RW texture. When I render the scene lit using RW Realistic I get strange 'lines' down the objects like the paint has run! These do not appear in OPENGL renders. At first i thought it was some odd reflections but i removed the reflectance from the texture and the same occurred. Any ideas as to what might be the cause? 0 bcd
Check that the texture's Bump is set to None Quote Link to comment
0 Mike Wright
thanks. just tried that, no change. Also just taken the extrudes into a separate file, lit with a single infinite light and the problem persists so lighting within the original scene is not to blame. Also tried rendering in Final Quality RW and the same occurs so indirect lighting is not to blame either. Quote Link to comment
0 markdd
I had this happen a while back. I think I solved it by importing the image as a png file having already removed the background in photoshop. You can then use the Alpha channel for when you create your image prop. 1 Quote Link to comment
0 Mike Wright
thanks, will give it a try. They are currently TIFFs with a white background rather than alpha Quote Link to comment
0 Rummelplatz
png should work, tiff is mostly used for printing. otherwise jpeg is also an option. Quote Link to comment
