Problems with rendering Sketchup objects in Vectorworks

Hi,
I have problems with rendering the objects which I import to Vectorworks. The program doesn't render them although I used to render Sketchup objects in Vectorworks before so I import them as 3DS and then click view-render-fast rendtrworks but it remains as it was when imported. Anybody have some solutions?

A screen cap of what you're describing would be most helpful, as it is not clear what you mean when you say that they "remain as it was when imported".

Do mean that they are a wire-frame mesh, not solid?

From sketchup save as a version lower than VW. So if you are using vw2017 then save as 2016

 

on import click on the options tab on the import dialogue box and choose create materials for all textures (something like that as I am doing it from memory)
