Renderworks Camera - Residual Memory

Kevin McAllister

Question

Here's my situation -

  1. I created a Renderworks Camera. I made a sheet layer viewport from the camera and left the camera attached.
  2. Later I ended up duplicating the camera viewport and changing the layer it looks at.
  3. Now when I edit the camera associated with the duplicate viewport instead of seeing the new layer in the context of the camera I still see the old layer in the context of the camera.

Can someone reproduce this? Is it a bug?

Thanks,

Kevin

(PS. I am desperate for VW to improve the Fine Tune Camera View option so I can really see what the camera frame crop is doing. At the moment its entirely guesswork as to where the edge of the frame is.)

I have had this problem and find it very frustrating. I find the only way to clear the "residual memory" is to slightly alter the view. Regarding your PS, the only way to see the camera crop when using the Fine Tune Camera option is to enable the crop in the document preferences pane. It would be good if there was a tool bar button to toggle this setting.....

Thanks for confirming Mark.

I'm not sure why you'd ever want to see a camera view without the crop. I think it should toggle on and off with the Fine Tune Camera option.
