Bruce Kieffer
Since update to VW 10.5.1, my PowerBook G3 Bronze will not auto sleep after 10 minutes of inactivity as I have set in my energy saver. This only happens when VW is running. If I quit VW the computer will sleep as expected. I tried turning off the VW auto save, but that made no difference. Any suggestions to fix this would be appreciated. Quote Link to comment
Speedy Gonzales
This may be a coincidink, but I am experiencing a similar situation on my new PowerBook G4 running Panther 10.3.2. When I close the lid to sleep, and then lift the PB and put it into a vertical position (as if to slip into a case), it wakes back up. The similarity is that I had recently installed VWA 10.5.1b first, then upgraded to Panther, sent in my PB for screen replacement, then installed the VWA 10.5.1 full version upgrade. I don't know if there is a relationship between these sets of upgrades, but thought to mention if it helps. Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
Irving, Your situation seems to me to be a hardware problem. Mine is definitely a conflict with VW 10.5.1 since we it is the only program that while running causes my PowerBook G3 Bronze not to auto sleep. Quote Link to comment
Richard
Bruce, are you running VW10.5.1 under OS 9.2? How well does it work? Haven't taken the plunge yet and wonder cause I have a Wallstreet 466 copper upgrade and haven't felt the need, bad readings on this tech board, to go to VW 10.. Opinions helpful! Richard
Any response from tech on this subject? Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
Richard, I'm using VW 10.5.1 with OSX 10.3.2 only. Trash OS 9 a long time ago! I haven't heard anything further about the no sleep issue. Quote Link to comment
