Ashh
Just got a 3D printer and now want to print files from VW14. These are BIM files constructed using wall, slab, window, door objects etc. Exporting .STL files into Slicr works fine but the file comes in at 1:1 and needs to be scaled down. The slicing programme I'm using, Slicr, only allows scaling in full percents - i.e. 1% for 1:100, 2% for 1:50 etc Consequently it seems I can't print out at 1:200 which would need a scaling of 0.5% Has anyone found a way round this? Do other slicer programmes have 'fractional percent' scaling? Quote Link to comment
Marionette Maven Marissa Farrell Posted February 23, 2017 Marionette Maven Share Posted February 23, 2017 Personally, I use Craftware as my slicer. I'm able to scale to .5%, I'm not sure how drastic the rounding errors are. Quote Link to comment
Ashh
Many thanks Marissa. I will look into Craftware. Quote Link to comment
Marionette Maven Marissa Farrell Posted May 3, 2017 Marionette Maven Share Posted May 3, 2017 I'm a big fan of Hatchbox filaments. I primarily use PLA, but I'm getting more into PETG because it behaves more like a hybrid of ABS & PLA and warps less when I leave it sitting in my car Quote Link to comment
