Bruce Kieffer
Here's what I want to loft, but I'm not having any luck. I need to make this pull. Can you give me suggestions to loft it or create it some other way? Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
I'm to here so far. Getting better. Too much trial and error. Maybe there's a way to predict the results, but I haven't found it yet. Quote Link to comment

Bruce Kieffer
For me, creating a NURBS curve in 3d space is like grabbing a wad of string, closing your eyes, spinning around 3 times, and then throwing it. There seems to be no predictable results. I learned a lot from this exercise. Quote Link to comment
bcd
There was a very interesting, efficient Subdivision demo of a door pull, but can I find it? Quote Link to comment
AlanW
@bcdI know this one and have seen just recently and I too can't find it. Hopefully someone will find it because the one I saw was exactly what Bruce was doing and it looked really smick. Quote Link to comment
grant_PD
I played around with this for a while and I actually think there might be something buggy going on. When I have more than 1 profile curve the loft does not follow the rail curve at all. Quote Link to comment
grant_PD
Taking the cross section of the handle and creating a birail sweep works. But you don't have real control over the cross sections other than how it manipulates the circle at the start (ie. The profile is only squeezed or pulled, it cannot change shape. Bruce Kieffer
I'd love to see that subdivision demo if anyone can find it. Edited February 21, 2017 by Bruce Kieffer Quote Link to comment
