Slab modification and context objects

It seems that when you "enter" a slab object it does not show the context objects like when you enter other similar object types. Not sure if this is a bug or something not implemented or I am doing something wrong. I often have to modify the underlying geometry and snap to surrounding objects.

@David PoironHi try selecting reshape in the Edit slab dialogue, it allows you to reshape slab while seeing the walls etc. HTH

The Clip tool is very handy to modify slabs in context

I don't think it is categorized as a bug but it IS a problem and inconsistent.

I ask for this so long and many times.

I've found with slab modifiers it's generally more productive to go cut the one you need to modify out of the slab. 

Fix it in context then reapply the resulting polygon(s) to the slab again. 

Especially given so many standard edit operations send the slab into error.

I also prefer the Slab Modifier sub mode, as it is used in other 3D objects too.

But there needs also to be a visual separation or layering of which 2D modifier geometry effects

which component or the whole slab.

When I double click on a slab object to edit it the rest of the model disappears so I cannot interact with it.

 

Is it possible to control the visibility of the rest of the classes/design layers etc when this happens?

There are a few threads where I mentioned that too in the past.

For me it is also a problem.
