rotation of pattern in view ports (in sheet layers)

when I rotate a viewport in a sheet layer, the pattern does not rotate. any suggestions how to rectify this?

@JOE DE VILLIERSHi the only way I know to lock in a hatch pattern and to select it and nudge it with attribute mapping tool. this locks the pattern and you can rotate it. HTH

If you are using Patterns, I don't think there is any way to get them to rotate.  Patterns are an operating system level thing. You ask the operating system to fill an area with a pattern and it does it. Change the shape (or rotate it) and the pattern still stays the same.

 

Hatches will rotate with the viewport.  The mapping may change unless you do something like Alan suggests above, but the basic rotation with the viewport will work.

thanks guys. I will check out attribute mapping.... not that I know what that is... ;-(. I would use hatches, but I do not have one which is just a simple set of parallel lines - like one would want to indicate timber decking or roof sheets on plan? or am I missing something?

You don't have to make ones for each orientation, but I usually do. You can lock the hatch so it will rotate. See video.
