Importing DXF or DWG

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how to get rid of the colored lines that attach themselves to the corresponding classes? When I import a DWG file, those lines that reference the class structure (like a grid) are so abundant, I can't see the drawing.

Well Barry, I don't know if I've understood you, but....

Are you sure they are not AutoCAD Point objects, grossly out of scale?

Try doing a custom selection for Type is 2d locus, then delete them all (I think I've done this before

Do you have black lines horizontally and vertically all over the drawing?

If you do, turn off (remove the check mark) Snap to Loci in VW preferences.

If you see lines all over the place that are colored red, blue, yellow, pink, etc, they may be grid lines the ACad user placed. If that's the class, try to see what class they are in and turn that class to be invisible.

You should be able to click on them and see what class they belong to by looking at "Class" in the OIP.

If you can't select them, check to make sure Class Options under the Organize menu is set to Show Snap Modify Others.
