Problem with Select Similar

Select similar is not behaving as it should. I created a pattern of adjoining hexagons using move by points (so all identical by definition, and same alignment). Then I tried to select similar (with size and object checked in the preferences box), but only a few of the hexagons were selected. Can anyone shed light on this strange behaviour? Thanks. Could you please attach that VWX file and I can take a look? I tried replicating the issue here in 2017 SP2 but was unable to. Which SP of 2016 are you currently using?

Little irritating is also when you copy rectangles, some straight, the others 90° rotated as I often do.

With VW's 2D rectangle height/width/adaption you will get 2 types of rectangles from Magic Wands point of view..

That means just another click with Magic Wand Tool by Object+Size.

Until VW <2017, now it works with 2017

 

But it will not work if you copy your rectangles and use different angles.

This way they will not get selected by the Magic Wand at all.

 

And as it looks that happens also for these rectangles after these got extruded.

 

So what MW does when activating "Size" is in reality "Size+Rotation"
