Tips for producing cloud reflections in windows

The rest is material settings,

while physical glass being a dielectric with typical low reflection value of only about 4% but 100% fresnel,

will soon look not so physical if you increase reflection value at 0°.

So cloud reflections mainly when seen from the side.

Next can be to increase the contrast and brightness of the environment reflection texture used for reflection,

and finally faking in post production. (Where it it would be nice to render reflection masks at separate channel)

Yes and no.

I propose workarounds but am a physical based rendering evangelist.

And can't resist to palm my view of things off while answering questions :)

But important is that you reach the result that you want.

In many cases that does not mean to be realistic.

It is in your Render Style > Background > Environment Reflections

where you can set a different Texture Map than what is seen by Camera or Environment Lighting.

Thanks zoomer, this solved my problem. I wish I'd understood it properly when you first posted it! 9_9

I also made a wish relating to this:
