use old and new license at the same time

Hi,

 

I´m owning VW 2016 (Serial No. Version) and think about an upgrade to 2017. If I understand it right, Nemetschek will deliver a separate serial number with the upgrade.

Will I be able to use both Versions at the same time on different computers?

hi

i have 16 and 17 and can indeed open the 2 versions at the same time on the same machine

i think you could also open 16 on 1 machine and 17 on a different machine

but i may be wrong on the last item

There are different license types available depending on your region so check with your sales rep/distributor to confirm for your case, but if the last 6 of the serial number match then only one can be used at a time for most licences.

hi jim i have never had any problems opening 16 and 17 at the same time on my iMac and as you have noted my last 6 numbers are the same on both of my licences......

it has never come up with any warnings........thanks phil

Which is why I mentioned the various license types and why such a question would have to go directly to a distributor or sales rep since they could check the license type and give an accurate response. The rules are different for different types.

Phil, also you keep mentioning opening them on ONE machine. The original poster asked about opening them on DIFFERENT machines.

 

On one machine you are likely to be OK, at least with the US licenses. You will not be able to use licenses wth the same customer code (last 6 digits) on different machines at the same time.
