I think blue symbols need some evaluation when used with symbols containing layer plane objects. The whole point of a layer plane object is that its able to appear in both 2d and 3d views yet when blue symbols are inserted in 2d, layer plane objects are deleted. @JimWIt feels like this has never been considered or evaluated for workflow implications and I'd be curious why it works the way it does.
