mohammad.sa
I believe this is a noobie question, but I spent 90 mins trying to figure it out. How can I create a section that shows all walls and floors components ?! I need to make a real technical architectural section Many thanks Quote Link to comment
AlanW
Go view , create section viewport and then click on the viewport and select advanced. Play with the display settings to show structural settings etc. You will need to draw the model in real technical detail if you want to punch it out in 3d, otherwise draw in 2D. P Retondo
Mohammad, Alan is correct (as always!), but for me it is less time-consuming to just draw the section in 2d based on the 3d geometry, which I take from the old "Cut 2d Section" tool. Otherwise you have to put in all the structure in 3d objects, and get the various class settings for the section viewport, etc., to be just right. Even then, the last time I tried it there were graphical shortcomings that didn't quite make the grade. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Haha! I am also super old-school about sections. I use the Section VP as a guideline, then detail (pretty heavily) in the annotations. That way I can get the graphics just the way I like. Also I find the process very satisfying. 1 Quote Link to comment
AlanW
I wonder if one day the model will produce it all via a simple process. (Maybe not in my lifetime) As much as I would love the model to do it, I am with Peter I draw it the old fashion way. projection. 1 Quote Link to comment

I would be happier if one day the system understood what I draw over the section and updated the model to suit. Again this is not likely to happen in my life time.
