Peterw
I am Using an Imac 800Mhz PowerPC G4 with 1024MB Ram and OS X has all the updates installed. Vectorworks will freeze at any time even if I create a new file and not used Page setup or Printing. There is no pattern whatsoever. Quote Link to comment
Cloud Hidden
fwiw, I have the same setup with no similar problem. I'm using it continuously for days at a shot across multiple files. Only problem I have is like 5 min ago when the power goes out for 2 sec, but can't put that one on NNA. Whatever is the cause of your freezes, it's likely something beyond just the VW version/OS combo. Quote Link to comment
Peterw
The Imac has Office X and Scanwizard 5 installed. Hanging off the Usb is a HP DesignJet 500 and the machine is networked. The User has used the machine on and off the Network also had only had Vectorworks loaded and still freezes. I was wondering if it could have anything to do with the graphics card in these Imacs (Nvidia Gforce4 Chipset) Quote Link to comment
Guest
If you haven't run Disk Utility yet - that may be the solution. Disk Utility is in the utilities folder. You'll want to run Disk First Aid to verify and repair disk (even if no errors are detected in the verifivation step, you'll want to run the repair option). The freezing may be associated with a corrupted user setting. You can also create a new user and see if you get the same freezing. If you do, then permissions may still be a problem. If you don't, the old user preferences are probably corrupt. Running Disk First Aid from the Disk Utility utility will resolve the problem. Quote Link to comment
