Changing the colour of glass in door!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm trying to change the colour of the glass in my door- it's stuck with the generic opaque turquoise coloured glass. However, I have changed the glass class to glass-clear and it's not changing. Another door of mine is set to the same clear glass class and it's doing as its told. Can anyone shed any insight?

Many thanks!

Here's a sample file.  The "stock" door is on the left where the class for the glass is set to "Glazing-Clear", the door on the right has its class for the glass set to "Glazing-other color" and uses one of the glass textures that ships with the program.

These are being controlled by class

Does this work for you?

Had problems with windows or doors too.

"Someone" inside my VW had deactivated the "use Textures at creation" in my classes.

(while 2017 conversion ?)

I was wondering as I never had that setting ever deactivated since I started with VW 2014.

That meant that all my Windows showed only Class Fill Colors or the Material switched to

the Window Main Class if I played a bit.

After reactivating textures auto assignment inside classes again it worked as expected.

Others on the german forum write about loosing material settings when editing a Wall style.

(Which I can't reproduce in my INT VW)

Ahm, for the Glass in the Door Panel,

you use a Custom Panel (Symbol).

You have to set the Class and or Material for the Glass directly in the Symbol's 3D part

in that case. It will not use the standard Doors Class assignments.

Currently it is on the none Class.

EDIT :

And it needs to set to use Class Materials in the OIP > Render too.
