I am a landscape designer and currently have a job where we have been able to use a standard survey to create a Digital Terrain Model (DTM). We have been also able to gather a survey of where the sandstone is below the soil level on the site. My question is, is there a way to map subsoil profiles such as a bedrock layer so that I can do a rough estimate on how much soil vs sandstone will need to be excavated. This is critical to this job as the client is adamant about the budget and need to assist the contractor in quoting for excavation. It will also be useful to plan for any stone that we want to be exposed. Hope you guys can help. Quote Link to comment
AlanW Posted November 16, 2016 Share Posted November 16, 2016 (edited) What you could do is place a rectangle and convert it to a site modifier and set this to the level of the sandstone or excavation you need then you set your model to show proposed and it will give you a calculation of how much excavation you have. Calculations show up in the OIP. If you change this one or do one you create the pad first then offset it by 100 mm outside and then convert that to a grade limiter. This will give you the vertical cut. When you update the calculations in the OIP you get volumes listed, existing and new.
