Carlos Palmer
neither command works on this shape extrude fails to extrude polygon correctly, and ONLY extrudes sides (as opposed to extruding polygon plane) drape doesn't work at all... Furthermore, the shape I need would entail sloping down the spiral at the broader end... how would you do such a shape??? any suggestions? thx! Quote Link to comment
markdd
Is the polygon closed? 1 Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I agree with Mark. Either the polygon is not closed or you have No Fill assigned to the object. What you get are the extrusion of the lines but not the extrusion of the "body" Another way to do this would be to use the Polygon tool in Eyedropper mode to create a new object the shape of the object and extrude that Quote Link to comment
Andy Broomell
If the polyline isn't completely closed, a quick way to fix this is to select the shape then checkmark the "Closed" box in the OIP. Then you should be able to Extrude it properly. Edited November 7, 2016 by Andy Broomell 2 Quote Link to comment
AlanW
Possibly what you are after?? Created an extruded rectangle, used knife to cut the taper then used the deform tool to bend it around. AAdded solid for blob in centre. HTH Quote Link to comment
