Jonathan Pickup
I saw this utility for creating downpipes (downspouts) from Andrea Facchinello. I know that you can make your own downpipes using extrude along path, but this plugin makes it quick, and it's a free plugin. https://andreafacchinello.wordpress.c... I made a movie to show how it works: 1 Quote Link to comment
Matt Overton
Thanks this will be very useful. Other tools do look handy as well so I think I'll probably sending some money Andrea's way shortly. Curious about how you do Ridge, Hip cappings and Gutters for that matter? I guess you haven't found a way to do valley gutters. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
Matt, i wrote a whole manual on creating the accessories. You can use extrudes, extrude along path, framing members, etc. There is a way to create the valley guttters, and it takes a bit of thinking. If you create your roof without the cladding, then you can extract the face of the roof, subtract the area for the gutter, then extrude it. The result is convincing, but it can be a lot of work. 1 Quote Link to comment
AlanW
Hi, Another way to create the ridge and valley profiles is in one of my videos. Also attached are 2 marionette Downpipes you can use. Click on one and change in the OIP. Just another option. Matt Overton
Well that seems better than my normal method of duplicating multiple copies of the roof making them thin and clipping the profiles to get the Ridges, Hips and standing seams even rafter tails. Quote Link to comment
