Working plane issues?

Does anyone else have an issue where they can't draw on a working plane? It's fairly frequent on my system.

Get an extrude, use the face select mode of working plane, and select a face.

Go to draw on that face and it's still on drawing on the layer plane regardless of the auto/scree/layer/working plane drop down at the top of the screen.

Happens in wireframe, GL and hidden.

On PC.

 

Edit: The issue seems to be with the working plane selection. Although the preview plane follows all the planes in the scene, clicking doesn't select them... any of them. Can do a three point selection, just not a face selection.

It sounds like your Document Preferences>Plane Mode is set to Screen Plane Only.

This setting will override your Working Plane selection.

 

To change it go to

File>Document Preferences>Document Settings>Plane Mode ->Screen Pland or Working Plane

or from the Active Plane Dropdown select Options.

 

As it's a Document Setting it's possible that the unwanted setting is originating in a Template File.
