VW2017 Publish Time

I have around 6 sheet layers with about viewports.

I went through and updated each viewport individually as wanted to check their appearance.

Process took around 5 minutes as not particluary large or complex.

I have now published the same sheet and left the option ticked to publish viewports as I find it safer to leave on expecting would take a smilar amount of time to render all again.

Its now been about over 20 minutes and still not finished publishing.

A script message appears on the screen with the message "publishing layer of internal  item 6 of 6".

The background screen of my VW has gone black with no other dialog.

Is this a bug or has anyone else experienced this?

As a workaround I exported to VW2016 and published from there, took around 5 minutes.

Has there been any development on this?

I left the original from above to publish for about 45 minutes and still didn't finish.

 

I am reluctant to start working on VW2017 if unable to publish.

It turns out exporting back to VW2106 causes "Spaces" to loose their info.

My suggestion would be to send the file to tech support to see if they can publish it.  If they can - then an issue on your end - but if they cannot - then a potential bug.  But workarounds to export to older versions seems risky to me.  For example if we have to upgrade our 2016 created resources to new 2017 (at least I have had to do that in order to use title blocks created in 2016) then could there be issues saving to older version to print?
