J. Miller
Hello, I'm starting to use VW2017 and have an issue with a plugin This plug in is saved as a red symbol that changes to the plugin once dropped. This plugin in is event enabled. When dropping the plugin from the resource file as a new object.. KABOOM. No warnings, a large crash report but no written error output. If i open a drawing that contains the plug in it works just fine. If I turn off the event enabled portion of the plug in it works fine. I am not a guru with event enabled plugins, but have had some luck with it. Did something change or is it possible my coding is bad somehow? I'd be willing to share his plugin if needed. Pat Stanford
What happens if you open the resource file and try to place one of the symbols directly in that file? Quote Link to comment
J. Miller
If I drag the red pio into the file it's fine. If I double click ... kaboom Quote Link to comment
JBenghiat
You're probably just not triggering a reset when you're seeing the plug-in function, but as soon as you execute the code you get a crash. When you say "turn off the event enabled portion," do you mean unchecking Event enabled in the plug-in editor? If so, you plug-in may not be properly coded to handle events. When you open your code in the script editor and press the compile button, do you get any errors? Another potential cause of issues is missing default data in a plug-in's parameters for everything but text. Parameters that take a distance value also need both a standard and metric value. Blank doesn't necessarily translate to 0. -Josh Quote Link to comment
