More data please. How are you trying to Ungroup? Keyboard shortcut? Select from Menu? What are you trying to Ungroup? Where did it come from? New 2017 file or updated from an earlier version?

Try this:  Create a new 2017 blank file. Draw two objects and Group them. Then Ungroup them. Does it work then? Does it work both when you use the keyboard shortcut and when you go directly to the menu?

What happens when you do the test above in the file with the objects you can't ungroup?

Could those objects possibly be locked?

Just some ideas to try and identify the problem.

Several things to check

•Select the object, read the OIP to confirm the object is a group.

•If yes, try the Ungroup command. Look at OIP.

• If group, try the Ungroup command again.  This could be a nested group, or multiple nested group. So keep ungrouping until the OIP shows a different object type.

• If the selected object is not a group, eg a it's a symbol or other object type, try Modify>Convert to Group. Then try the Ungroup.

Hello Pat,

Trying to shortcut via Keybord shortcut and from Menu. Neither work. It came from a 2012 Vectorworks file, so an earlier version.

Making new groups and ungrouping them works.

Opening the file on a different computer ungrouping works. So its probably a plugin issue?

Objects are not locked.

Hello Benson,

Object is a group. It is not a nested group niether is it a symbol.

The issue seems to be the instalation of the program, for on a different computer it will ungroup without an issue.
