Andy Broomell
Why is lit fog part of the RW Background? I'm sure there's a reason, but to me it seems like it would make more sense as part of the RW Style. It's something I've always been curious about. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Luis M Ruiz Posted September 18, 2016 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 18, 2016 Every background can help you create a rendering with a cone of light. Turn it on, and add a degree of "fog" noise or smooth, don't forget to check cast shadows. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted September 18, 2016 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 18, 2016 Well the only real reason is because Lit Fog and RW Backgrounds existed before Renderworks Styles were a thing. I've requested that Lit Fog be controlled by the Style instead as well, as it makes sense. 2 Quote Link to comment
Andy Broomell
Beautiful rendering, Luis! I was mainly asking why it's controlled by the Background rather than the RW Style, but Jim's answer makes sense. I'm glad there's already a request to make it controlled by the RW Style, since I feel one would instinctually look for it there. Quote Link to comment
Tom Klaber
I hardly ever use lit fog - partly because it is a background attribute. It should be moved. Quote Link to comment
