gester
hi, does anybody know how to preserve the object shadow to the final look in rendering an object against the pdf or png 2d image? it's the same design layer. i see the shadow while rendering process, but afterwards it disappears... thanks. Benson Shaw
One way is to create an image texture and apply that to a 3d rectangle of same size as the bitmap. I think 2d planar objects cannot accept or cast shadows. •Create a new image resource with the map. •Create a new image texture using the image resource. Enable the Cast/Accept shadows option •Apply the texture to a 3d poly. Make the poly same size as the bitmap you are currently using. •In OIP of the 3d poly, scale and offset the texture as needed to fill the rectangle. Or use Attribute Mapping Tool. Textured poly may seem dark. Increase Ambient Lighting (defaults to 35%) or other light sources as desired. -B Edited August 27, 2016 by Benson Shaw Quote Link to comment
gester
thanks, benson. actually i wanted to have a confirmation that 2d shapes made out of imagery might not accept shadows, i haven't found anything on this anywhere in the net. your workaround seems to be a good one, thanks rob Edited August 27, 2016 by gester Quote Link to comment
