Jim Smith
I'd like to be able to do this without having to first make a shape from my walls as I can with a Roof - seems like an odd thing to have to ask for. Quote Link to comment
0 AlanW
Hi, If your walls all close a loop you dont need a polyline. Select create slab and select closing walls and tick will create a slab. HTH Quote Link to comment
0 Kevin McAllister
Note that in an alternate thread it was indicated that slabs were being recommended over floors by NV. It sounded like floors may be becoming old technology. KM Quote Link to comment
0 Jim Smith
I guess that's what I was thinking, that slab may be replacing floor Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
I always used slabs only. That came from the attempt of creating multi component slabs including finish floor components. Because that won't work because of structural interior walls, I just switched to create my finish floor packages by a second component slab above the structural slab package. I din't even think of that there may be a floor tool But I have no problems with placing floors (by slabs) at all. (Or nearly at all, in deed I have lots of problems with slabs *) As I want a separate floor for each room, I simply use the fill bucket. * - slabs derive from extrudes, extrudes have wrong face normal directions/bad geometry - slabs don't show cut faces in OpenGL clip cubes (like Stairs ?) - slabs don't show surrounding geometry when in modifier editing mode - floors by slabs boundary to surrounding walls only, what about structural interior wall cores, columns, stair cuts, flooding the areas under doors, ... 0 Andrew Davies
I like using this tool with the paint bucket - seems to work a little better for me. Andrew Quote Link to comment
0 Markvl
Slabs are great for some things and Floor is great for others. I like to use Floor for my floor finishes Quote Link to comment
