Bruce Kieffer
I want to scream. I waste so much time recreating my workspace because for some reason Vectorworks can't remember my palette positions. Please fix this. And you would think that duplicating a workspace that does work would work, but nope, not if you change the name in the finder to the name of the one that didn't work. I have no clue why this is. zoomer
BTW I now see the problem with the right tripple column combo docked. It does not keep proportion. I like to use one third sizes, but it changes to something else (each restart ?) Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
There's also an issue when the navigation palette is docked where sometimes it won't scroll. You have to click back in the drawing and then click on it again to reactivate it. Kevin Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
It's a real mess. My biggest problem is I open Vectorworks and my formally docked palettes are now undocked. Secondly, the height of docked palettes change. They have a mind of their own! I sure hope it's fixed in VW 2017. Quote Link to comment
rDesign
Bruce - when I open Vw, if there's no file open the palettes are undocked, but once I open a file they go back to being docked. The heights of the docked palettes does change, they seem to only like maintaining equal heights. I have faith that it will be fixed in Vw2017. I'm sure you already have - but if not - have you saved your Palette positions via Window > Palettes > Save Palette Positions. Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
rDesign, I have saved palette positions to no avail. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
SamIWas
Do you, by chance, sync your VW folder with another computer or as part of an office setup? I ask because I use a program to keep my laptop and iMac synced, and one of the folders it syncs is the Vectorworks user folder. Palette positions are saved each time the application is open on either the laptop or the iMac. And because I use palettes very differently on each, they appear where I last left off on whatever machine I was on before the last sync. But, I agree that a workspace should put them back. Jonathan Pickup
Sam, instead of using a program to keep your user folders sent between one computer and the other, why not set up a workgroup folder and store all of your shared information on that. That would allow you to have different workspaces on each computer but still have all of your default content synchronised on both computers. Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
Sam, I do have and use 2 computers, but I do not sync my Vectorworks user folder. Quote Link to comment
