Workspace layout is goofed AGAIN!

Recommended Posts

I want to scream. I waste so much time recreating my workspace because for some reason Vectorworks can't remember my palette positions. Please fix this.

And you would think that duplicating a workspace that does work would work, but nope, not if you change the name in the finder to the name of the one that didn't work. I have no clue why this is.

Bruce - when I open Vw, if there's no file open the palettes are undocked, but once I open a file they go back to being docked. The heights of the docked palettes does change, they seem to only like maintaining equal heights. I have faith that it will be fixed in Vw2017.

I'm sure you already have - but if not - have you saved your Palette positions via Window > Palettes > Save Palette Positions.

Do you, by chance, sync your VW folder with another computer or as part of an office setup?

I ask because I use a program to keep my laptop and iMac synced, and one of the folders it syncs is the Vectorworks user folder. Palette positions are saved each time the application is open on either the laptop or the iMac. And because I use palettes very differently on each, they appear where I last left off on whatever machine I was on before the last sync.

But, I agree that a workspace should put them back.
