For me too.

But I see some problems with the "upload Manager" disappearing partly
when editing a post. Sometimes even when quoting or just for no reasons (?)

(Safari) Completely reloading the Thread helps at some point.

Nice that the text already entered got stored.

Little tedious or strange to try to delete an accidentally quote.

Yeah it's holding the cache too long sometimes, the behavior is different on various browsers but I notice the problem more if I have multiple tabs to the forum open concurrently. We're going to get a list of repeatable issues with it and see if they can be ironed out.

:( Okay, seriously, this is not meant be. I can see the file in VW2016 viewer, but there is no resource browser for me to check the materials out on and the OpenGL view is just grey. If it isn't too much trouble, could you save it down to 2015 for me PLEASE?? Or is there a secret to opening a 2016 file without VW 2016 that I don't know about.

PS - I know it has bugs, but I like the new forum, more user-friendly too.

Sorry, have overseen your signature.

And while I was thinking about having used anything 2016 only (?)
I saw that Jim did the job already :)

You will find a Render Style in Ressource Browser, Should also appear in the render dropdown.
As I used only self illuminated surfaces for lighting, Global Illumination is needed to see something.

Maybe the Render Settings will not work very well in VW 2015 and need some tweeking.

Strange, why don't the glowing object light the Wall ?
Did I build them that way and or used a 2016 feature camera bloom effect ? :)

Thanks that you like these.
You can duplicate these and play a bit with blurry settings and such,
to get a feel for it and adapt them that they look as you like in your projects.

They got lost with Forum Upgrade.

There is also the file :

SPOTLIGHT-TEST.vwx.zip

I've spent most of the day trying to figure out how to get this effect on Renderworks Textures with glow enabled. We're trying to create lightboxes on an exhibition stand, but the boss isn't happy with them simply being a set illumination, and I can't find a way of creating this glowing halo around the lightsource.

Does anyone have a copy of this file they could upload, or a way of duplicating this effect? Spotlight & Renderworks 2017.

Thanks in advance!

Ritchie, I think you will have this camera feature in v2017? I don't have it in 2015.

Here's how Zoomer said he made the glowing effect:

used a 2016 feature camera bloom effect

You can also try downloading the 2016 version of the file that zoomed sent and checking out the settings etc that he used, then adjust as you need.

Im not sure if I set any "Bloom" effect in the camera settings (new in 2016)

I doubt.

I think it is just that the self illuminated faces are either extruded and their sides light the wall

or just simply have a little distance to the Wall and their back side illuminates the wall ....

I recommend trying the Bloom method as well as altering the Glow portion of the lit textures to see which gives you the look you prefer as well as which is faster. I suspect one might be speedier than the other and if you're going to be rendering it a lot or in multiple views, knowing which is faster is useful.
