0 Benson Shaw 564 Posted July 28, 2016 Sorry, Kizza, not getting the intent? Rendering? An eyebrow raising? ±1 -B Quote Share this post Link to post
0 michaelk 466 Posted July 28, 2016 Kizza, You're on a Mac. Have you tried Control-Option-Command-8? Instant dark theme :-) hth mk Quote Share this post Link to post
0 PVA - Jim 2,382 Posted July 28, 2016 He is referring to the UI, many applications, especially design-centric ones offer light and dark themes. I too want this: [img:center]http://yorik.uncreated.net/scripts/themes/theme_dark.jpg[/img] [img:center]http://yorik.uncreated.net/scripts/themes/theme_clean.jpg[/img] The inverted color UI (Which i used to used all the time until I had to do color matching work) can be enabled with CMD-SHIFT-OPT-8 by default on older Mac OSes, but I think after 10.10 or 10.11 you have to go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Accessibility and enable the shortcut for Invert Colors. This works to an extent but also inverts all the colors within your document, ideally the UI could be altered separately to preserve document appearance but be easier on the eyes. 0 Kizza 8 Posted July 28, 2016 Oh yes, sorry I should have been a bit clearer.. Go to the 2 minute point and you'll see what I mean... Illustrator, Phiotoshop and autocad all have it. Nice about CorelDraw is that the theme is somewhat customisable. Incidentally, since Adobe have gone full subscription we are investigating CorelDraw as a suitable replacement. It seems to offer quite a lot actually. Quote Share this post Link to post
0 Kizza 8 Posted July 28, 2016 Im on Mavericks, I think Dark Themes were introduced in Yosemite? Quote Share this post Link to post
0 Tom Klaber 735 Posted July 28, 2016 +1 Roll it into the needed UI refresh. Quote Share this post Link to post
0 MullinRJ 203 Posted July 31, 2016 (edited) Black Background doesn't help? It's not as sexy as what Jim posted, but it is easier on the eyes for many types of drawing. I toggle back and forth all the time. Raymond Edited July 31, 2016 by MullinRJ Quote Share this post Link to post
0 Kizza 8 Posted July 31, 2016 Prefer a more elegant, purpose designed solution myself. Dark themes incorporate elements of the user interface, not just the working space itself. Quote Share this post Link to post

0 zoomer 1,017 Posted September 15, 2016 I'm not 100% sure about dark theme in VW. I think that is what many CAD's use today. But I always felt that a Architectural Project looks better on a VW Screen, than on a Microstation or Archicad View Window ... And still not sure what it is. Somehow more sketchy, sketchupsy and artistic than scientific.. Quote Share this post Link to post
0 Mike T 2 Posted January 22, 2017 +1 also. Would really like to see this. As an option, of course, so those who prefer the lighter workspace can continue as they are. Quote Share this post Link to post
0 mjm 162 Posted January 23, 2017 I have to say, having spent time on Naboo, Autocad's latest Beta program, their dark theme is fantastic to look at and work with. So quiet. Quote Share this post Link to post
0 PVA - Jim 2,382 Posted January 23, 2017 This is in my top five personally desired features. I suspect it won't occur until we do a larger upgrade to the current UI that is not only aesthetic, but also improves functionality and usability (which I agree with, id much rather have a well thought out renovation than just a coat of paint), but I can almost guarantee that this one will eventually be included, if for no other reason than engineering getting tired of hearing me request it every few months. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Have to admit a dark theme isn't that bad. Less eye strain indeed. So good for work but not necessary for presentation on screen. Quote Share this post Link to post

0 rgcn 77 Posted November 6, 2018 @Jim Wilson For those of us not at the summit, is dark mode being teased to be in a future version or that it may be implemented in a SP for 2019? Rob Quote Share this post Link to post

Rob I would be stunned out of my pants if this was added in an SP. I would expect it in a full version release. Quote Share this post Link to post
