grant_PD
Just noticed this: If I'm working on say, layer A and B. I have show snap modify others enabled. Layer A is active I select a bunch of things on Layer B and group them Now the group resides in Layer A but the objects inside them exist in layer B. This is not a good situation at all. Grouping objects should always default the group to whatever the objects' layer is. In the event that one is trying to group things across layers...I would like a dialog telling me: You can't do this unless you reassign objects, pick a layer for them to reside on. P Retondo
Grant, I was unable to replicate this in v2015 or v2016. Something else must be going on with your file. When I group objects in an inactive layer, they are all reassigned to the active layer in a group also on the active layer. Quote Link to comment
