Amelia S
It is my understanding that there is no way to get the transom to shift positions to sit directly over the door leaf. Is that correct? Quote Link to comment
0 Markvl
That is correct. I would suggest putting this in the wish list. There is a lot that needs to be upgraded with doors and windows. Quote Link to comment

0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted June 3, 2016 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 3, 2016 I had not attempted this before, but no it does not seem possible to me either. I'll move this to wishlist and file requests for offset controls that would allow this. If possible; could you post an example image of a real world door you are trying to emulate where this occurs? (examples like that help the request move faster, but are not absolutely needed) Quote Link to comment
0 Amelia S
Sure - photos are attached. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
0 bcd
A way to achieve that now would be to create a Symbol containing the Door object w/ Transom and if needed a modeled Jamb Extension & Trim. Then place a door in position in the wall but in the Door Settings>General window select your new Symbol. Quote Link to comment
0 Amelia S
I've never made a door into a symbol before - would you use a door object and manually build the transom? Quote Link to comment
0 bcd
Not exactly, Just create a door in a blank space on your drawing. Adjust the settings until you get it the way you need it. With the door selected Modify>Create Symbol. Now place another door in your wall using the door tool. In the OIP>Settings>General>Use Symbol Geometry>Browse and select your new Symbol from the little window that appears. Quote Link to comment
