Amelia S
Still running diagnostics on these renderings. Thanks for all the help thus far. : When rendering a perspective in hidden line, surface hatches show up on one computer, but not the other. We want them to show up. Any ideas what could be causing this? It's exactly the same file (with the same render styles, viewport settings, etc.). It's odd because the same surface hatch shows up in other viewports on computer J, but it doesn't work in the interior views. Edited May 26, 2016 by Amelia S Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted May 26, 2016 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 26, 2016 In these examples, it appears as if you are missing column/wall geometry rather than surface hatching specifically, are these examples possibly showcasing a different issue? Or do I misunderstand the question? Quote Link to comment
Amelia S
You're right, I had a screenshot of the wrong file from my coworker's computer. I'll get one with actually the same file rendered. Sorry about that. Edited May 26, 2016 by Amelia S Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Don't know what the problem is, but it looks good. (with hatches) Quote Link to comment
Amelia S
Okay, the original post has been edited to show renderings from the same file done on different computers. Yes, I like the surface hatch too. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted May 26, 2016 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 26, 2016 Oooh that does look nice. Take just the floor with that surface hatch applied to it and pop it into a new document by itself, render in an isometric view one both machines in that same render mode and tell me if the hatches display differently. (The only reason you SHOULDN'T see them if things were functioning properly would be if one has renderworks and the other license does not, but that doesn't seem to be the case here since they're both doing HL edges and ambient occlusion anyway.) Amelia S
Okay, both machines render it fine in a blank file. He says it even renders correctly (with hatch) when he moves the floor outside of the building. It shouldn't have anything to do with lighting, right? May just be a freak oddity. Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted May 26, 2016 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 26, 2016 No, lighting should not be affecting it at all, especially if you just copied the same file from one to the other. Reboot both machines completely, then retry the original render. If it still doesn't appear with hatches on either machine, please send that file in to tech@vectorworks.net along with this from both your machines: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/627/DirectX+Diagnostics+and+System+Profiler and they can take a closer look and see what's going on.
