Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted July 13, 2016 Author Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 13, 2016 A tagging system has been added so that you can more easily make any type of resource searchable. You'll be able to select and tag one or more resources and with whatever text will help you search through them: [img:center]https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=15820&filename=Screen%20Shot%202016-07-13%20at%2010.17.48%20AM.png[/img] [img:center]https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=15819&filename=Screen%20Shot%202016-07-13%20at%2010.18.16%20AM.png[/img] Quote Link to comment
Tom Klaber
That is pretty cool. Is the tag local to your machine or can is it attached to the resource itself so that others in the office can use the tag to search for things? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted July 13, 2016 Author Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 13, 2016 It attaches to the resource, so yes if you had shared resources the tags you add would be available for use by all users with access to that resource. I think there are also plans to add tags to things like Marionette nodes to make searching through them without needing to know the function names easier, but more on that soon. Quote Link to comment

bcd
please also account for mis-spelling in the search Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
I like the tagging. Can we have tagging in the updated forums too? KM Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted July 13, 2016 Author Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 13, 2016 Tagging will be included stock in the new forums as well! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted July 13, 2016 Author Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 13, 2016 So in addition to the completely new Resource Manager replacing the Resource Browser, tools like Door, Window, Wall, Slab, Marionette, basically anything that might benefit from some kind of styled resource associated with it have their own mini-version of the manager baked in. So, instead of the long text list of slab or wall styles first from the current file and then from the library, you get this much more visual UI: This also gives tools like Marionette a built in search feature, so you no longer have to hunt down nodes manually: [img:center]https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=15821&filename=Screen%20Shot%202016-07-13%20at%203.02.53%20PM.png[/img] [img:center]https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=15822&filename=Screen%20Shot%202016-07-13%20at%203.03.05%20PM.png[/img] Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
That's pretty cool. If you were to select one of the items (a node for example from the above images), would you hit enter or double click to activate it? Kevin Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted July 13, 2016 Author Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 13, 2016 Yep, you just double-click to set that as the active style/resource for the tool until you alter it by picking another. You can also call it up by the respective mode group button, U I O or P depending on where that text list dropdown used to be mapped to before the selector UI was added. Quote Link to comment
Tom Klaber
Does the preview window autoscale? If we were to turn all of our details - would we be able to zoom in - or pan to investigate the resource before importing it? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted July 14, 2016 Author Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 14, 2016 It scales with the preview window pane size directly: [img:center]https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=15826&filename=Screen%20Shot%202016-07-14%20at%209.04.30%20AM.png[/img] [img:center]https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=15827&filename=Screen%20Shot%202016-07-14%20at%209.04.18%20AM.png[/img] Quote Link to comment
