Lines / NURBS curves and end on views

Question

I would like VW to somehow visually indicate lines or NURBS curved in a end on view. If I draw a line vertically in 3d space and then view it in top/plan view you can't see it at all unless its selected. Often I draw the centre axis of something and have to search for it to snap.

There should be a visual cue that the line or NURBS curve exists in any view where you're seeing it end on and only a point is visible. Maybe it appears like a locus.

Preferably user configurable like the points display settings in AutoCAD and the likes where you can have it shown as a dot, X or cross-hair with circle etc. etc. so that we can separate the visual display from 2D/3D loci

That being said, user configurable display of loci might be nice to have as well (will make a separate request for that)

Agreed, I had not noticed this before. There should at LEAST be a dot. Submitting it now.
