Open data entry window for all text inserts

There's a lot of zooming going on when one has to enter text onto a drawing. I would like to be able to click on the entry position, but then enter all text into a dialog box so I can actually read what I'm typing.

Do you think a dialog box is needed, or should we add an option for the text entry preview to scale when editing it instead? Something like the below:

Why can't you edit the text of a text object in a field in the OIP? Then it would always be screen size.....

Most of the time I need to have the text at drawing scale so I can fit it properly to other items.

But option for bigger box could be excellent. Maybe an option click on the text box to bring it forward or another icon like the little curled arrow to normalize rotated text.

If in the a field in OIP or a separate text palette (like Excel's entry field at top of screen), it would benefit from a user expandable window to limit how much is shown.

How about a zoom loupe type of function for editing text? It could zoom a text block to fill the screen while editing and then zoom back out with Escape/Escape.

I think that is what Jim was hinting at with his example. E.g. Visio has such functionality that when text is below a certain size and you try to edit it it automatically displays larger so that you can read what you are typing and when finished it shows at original size again.

So yes, I'd like to have that option in Vectorworks as well.

Zoom Loupe could work.

I'm probably not the only one who ever pressed z to attempt a zoom loupe on an open text box - y'know, the text box does not zoom, but a z is added to the text string at the insertion point. I've added a few x characters in text boxes, too, trying to return to selection tool.
