dxf export without creating a new folder?

Hannes

Question

Hello,

Is there a way to prevent VW (2016) from creating a new folder for each DXF Export?

If i export without fills or hatches i dont see a reason to create a new folder for each file.

My CAM programs "Quick File import" doesnt search into sub- folders, so i always have to dive

into the subdirectories manually- thats a little annoing.

I hope there is a solution- if not please add this to the wish list smile.

Thank you and Kind Regards,

Hannes

Even if I always export multiple DWG by Layer,

I also don't like the Folder created by VW.

Like I am responsible for every else File Saving or Saving As, where to put

that, to overwrite or use a new name,

anyway.

Worse than the Folder itself is,

the name you will give is for the Folder itself.

The next Time you will export without changing the name or path,it will ask

to overwrite, which is fine and as expected.

But if you explicitly want to save a different export and so adapt the name

and do not change the proposed path,

that new Folder will be created inside of the old Folder !?

The programmer of the CAM solution solved the problem

instantly by implementing subfolder browsing to the Import Plugin.

Anyway i think it would be nice to have the option to disable

creating the folder if possible ( i.e. if no hatches, fills etc. are exported)

+1

or to save it in a folder without it creating additional subfolders if I have to create multiple dwg files (e.g. for different design layers) where the hatches/fills etc. are the same for all of them.

that new Folder will be created inside of the old Folder !?

It will then create a new folder alongside the old folder with the new name, not as a subfolder in the old folder.

Either way this export folder issue could benefit from some more flexibility.
