Time in program log

Hi,

I know this has been discussed but I have not been able to find a resolution. Does anyone know where to find the time in program log in VW2016? My application folder is on my HD. I save everything to my external HD or to Dropbox. I can seem to locate this elusive log anywhere?

Thanks,

Matthew

First go into Preferences in the Session tab in turn on "Log time in program"

The logs are then put in /User/Library/Application Support/Vectorworks/2016

It's called Vectorworks Log.txt

(you need to do the Finder Option/Go trick to get to the Library folder.)

If you want to change where that is stored you can do that in Preferences > User Folders. Entering a folder there should make VW store the log file in that location.

Thanks, but what is the "Finder Option/Go trick"? And why bury this Log so deep? Isn't it how we bill??

You can now set the folder to write the logs to in Preferences > User Folders.

By default it goes to ~user/Library/Application Support/Vectorworks/2018

Apple has made the Library folder harder to get to (probably for a good reason :-).  If you go to the finder, Go menu and hold down the Option Key the Library folder will appear.

But with recent version of VW you can set that folder to be anywhere you like.
