HarryButcher.co.uk
Hey, I'm trying to render a fairly heavy scene and everything starts well - CPU meters on full, fans ramping up.. then everything goes calm and I see less/no progress in the render image.. even allowing it to run overnight. Any Ideas? I've been successfully outputting the same scene (mostly) all week and it's been fine.. only changes are a 3D human model and a different amount of lighting.. Ta, Quote Link to comment
zoomer
You should post information about your render mode (Renderworks ?) and screenshots of your render settings. A screenshot of your scene may help too. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted February 23, 2016 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted February 23, 2016 Does the rendering teapot icon disappear or remain onscreen and spinning? If you're using the Entourage Figures, which are mesh based, they can significantly increase rendering times and file speed, so much so that we plan to replace it entirely. Also: You may want to create a viewport and reduce the DPI of the sheet layer it resides on to 72, to see if the final render (which should complete much faster than on the design layer) actually completes without having to wait hours or days. If you can provide the info requested above we can take a closer look. Quote Link to comment
MHBrown
As soon as you said "3D human model" I was pretty sure of your problem. That 3D model probably has almost as much 3D information as the rest of your model. I add my humans via Photoshop in post. It makes things work smoother. MHBrown Quote Link to comment
