Christian Fekete
Which class should I insert my doors in? FYI components classes are assigned in the definition of the door. Thank you CF Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I always assign everything by components. So Classes for a door it will look for me : Door (main) > Class_Door_0 Door Frame > Class_Door_Frame_(Aluminium or something) Door Panel > Class_Door_Panel_(Wood or something) Door Glass > Class_Door_Glass_(Glass_Clear or something) .... If you do not need to control different parts of your doors, your class can simply be Class_Door, with all components set to "by Door Class" Quote Link to comment
Christian Fekete
So I can insert the door on the active layer None and the components will show up on the correct layer. Is this the same for wall components? Thanks for your reply Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Yes, same for Walls, Windows, ... But I use a main Class for each Architectural Part itself. This way you can better control visibility. For example showing Slabs and Columns only by hiding the other Main Classes. You can use the None Class for all if you want anyway. You could have your Main Prat Classes and use one Class like a Wood/Concrete/Paint for all Door/Window/... Sub Classing. But for my Modeling it is important to not only separate all things like Doors from the rest, I also may want to see all Wood and Metal Doors only, but no Glass Door Parts. Quote Link to comment
