zoomer
Pity. Don't use Cameras (or RW) at all since 2016 other than for testing purposes only. And am afraid each time I have to take hands on older projects again. Even cameras created in files from scratch tend to end either at the drawing origin or on other cameras locations. My newest observation is that switching active Layer alone will change cameras viewing angles. I now managed to increase the number of cameras marked active at the same time to 10 now. So if the cameras don't work, the renderings are not useful.....question is what is the best mac program to render. Edited November 8, 2016 by assemblyarchitecture Quote Link to comment
zoomer
The cameras have still problems in VW 2017. Sometime they may loose/change their positions. That also happens for me when I use them linked in viewports. So from time to time you may loose a camera. This can be quite annoying but does not mean you can't use it at all. I currently use them in viewports. I think RW features and quality is ok in most cases. As it is now included in all packages, just use it. If you need even better quality or an optimized render workflow, there are several 3D packages plus custom renderers available. The main Apps running OS X may be C4D, Modo, Maya. All able to run additional V-Ray or some other 3rd party renderers. Data export works fine now with VW 2017 in FBX, but if you are open about the Apps and their user interface and workflows, C4D with direct exchange from VW, to send your modeling changes, C4D has some advantages in combination with VW.
