Tom Klaber
I am sure this is super basic, but I am having a little trouble. As a an starter exercise, I wanted to create floor slabs from a blob. So I created a named subdivision object, and created a script to create contours. I tried converting the contours to polygons and then creating slabs from the polygons, but it did not work. I also tried just extruding the polygons, and it was actually closer - as the created objects had the right z value, but the extrudes are not complete - just little snippets. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Tom Klaber
I think I need a compose node. It seems that when the curves are converted to polygons - it is creating a group of polygon segments. I need to then compose those into a single polygon - then turn it into a slab. Is there a compose node? Quote Link to comment
Marionette Maven Marissa Farrell Posted February 9, 2016 Marionette Maven Share Posted February 9, 2016 There's not currently a compose node, and I also was thinking along the same lines, however I don't think that's the solution to this anyhow. I'll keep you updated on my troubleshooting. Quote Link to comment
rDesign
Tom - this reminded me of this post by Luis M Ruiz where he used Marionette to slice up solids, he was slicing up buildings to create floor plates. You might be able to modify his Marionette network to work with your Subdivision object. Quote Link to comment
