Shannahans
Hello, I'm new to Vectorworks and have created my floor plan on a single design layer. When I change the view to "right" for example to view the elevation, it's obviously showing all lines for all the content within my plan, which makes it quite hard to decipher. How do I view a single wall elevation, and not the full depth of my floor plan? I was going to create all my elevations on separate design layers, but should my floor plan be on different design layers so that I only see a portion of the space? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted February 3, 2016 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted February 3, 2016 You can do it via class and layer visibility, but you can also use a Section Viewport and manually set the desired depth: http://app-help.vectorworks.net/2016/eng/index.htm#t=VW2016_Guide%2FViewports%2FCreating_a_Section_Viewport_on_a_Sheet_Layer.htm&rhsearch=section%20viewport&rhhlterm=section%20viewport&rhsyns=%20 Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
Like Jim, my suggestion is to create viewports for your elevations. If you have built your walls as 3-D objects with 3-D doors and windows, then it will be straightforward to create your elevations. Quote Link to comment
Kizza
What rendering mode are you using? Wireframe will show all geometry lines. Hidden line rendering mode will show the elevation as viewed from outside, which is I think what you want. Quote Link to comment
