If you were having kernal panics with using a USB device such as a hub, dongle or printer via USB connection and were experiencing Kernal Panics - you should update to OS 10.2.6 at apple.com.

This bug has been fixed in this latest version of OS 10.2.6 along with a few other things.

That's an Apple issue that I am not sure the status of.

Obviously when a drive or port goes to sleep, such as the USB drive, it loses connection to anything it is connected to.

It's recommended by apple to not put the computer to sleep when away from the computer for this very reason.

You can contact Apple to check on the status of that issue.

This is not the same as the crashing wiht the USB device. Applications would crash when a USB device was connected such as a printer, dongle, scanner, digital camera, memory stick, etc.

That problem was addressed in the latest version of the OS.
