djobbins
Hey, I am working on rendering out some lighting looks for an event. The room has entirely white walls. Is there a way to have a surface bounce light the way a white wall would. I played with adjusting the reflectivity of texture but it only seems to make the surface reflect like a mirror, but didn't reflect light. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted January 13, 2016 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 13, 2016 You would need to use Indirect Lighting in a Renderworks Style, I think its disabled in some of the default render modes. That should let light bounce appropriately from objects with brighter white objects bouncing brighter white light. You can also just make the texture itself glow, but thats only if the indirect lighting isn't giving you the effect you want, that wouldn't normally occur in reality of course it would just be for visual effect. billtheia
Use "custom renderworks," turn on indirect lighting, and set the number of bounces for interior (assuming it's an interior.) You can adjust emitter brightness to get your scene dialed in. Emitter brightness can be set to more than 100%. For interiors, I range from 150% to 250%. Quote Link to comment
